   Seven people, who made up “Kartel”, has gathered together for the first time in 96 year of the last century, in Kramatorsk city of Donetsk province. Nobody wrote chronology, that’s why the impressions of those years waned against followed St. Petersburg period. Although the nostalgy is not that characteristic, which can be used to describe the author of this opus, there is no harm in attempts at least briefly to remember the events of those years, because the history (as wise people say) to the large extent determines our future: “NADEZHDA” nomination of the 3rd thousand years in accordance with the version of club premium “KAKTUS”, invitations to “SKIF 5” festivals, tens of concerts. During 4 year period the band has changed its guitarist (Barabash Vyacheslav) and bassist (Alexander Lapenko). Presumable style is determined somewhere between electric stage and live performance: iced, down - tempo, trip-hop, funk and psychedelics.

4. Telepaty-Otraviteli - Otrava

   “Telepatu-otraviteli” band was founded by German and Tamara Rul’skie in 2001. German Rul’skiy: 08.06.79. He has musical education, 4 years of vocal in Krasnodar conservatory. In his first team (“Menestreli” band) he first played guitar, then - drums. In “Telepatu-otraviteli” he combines drums and vocal. Also he is an author of the most songs. Tamara Rul’skaya: 07.12.84, has musical education, first year of composition in Krasnodar conservatory. She started as back-vocalist of the band, adding bass-guitar afterwards and together with her brother they made up the rhythm-section. 5th of July is the birthday of the project. Exactly on that date, thanks to advertisement the future “telepatu” met Alexandr Rogozenko (guitar) and Victoriya Senchenko (synthesizer). The band plays rockapops and also makes experiments with techno and punk – rock.
5. AveNue & Chizh - Kapel'

   The band “AveNue” was formed in 1995 in Narva, Estonia. The leader of the band is Vladimir Cherdakov, he is also the author of performed songs. The first album “Dni poleteli” was released in 1997, the next album, “Saenara”, was released in 2001. Both these albums were distributed only within Estonia. In 2003 together with Sergey Chigrakov (Chizh & Co) they were planning to release the album and to broad its distribution as far as Russian musical market. Now the band consists of four musicians: Vladimir Cherdakov (vocal, acoustic guitar); Ilea Lazarev (drums); Kirill Smirnov (bass-guitar); Kirill Adulin (keyboard, accordion). 6. Belovod'ye - Dalyokaya

   “Belovodye” was formed in Spring of 1998. We started from reggae, but with the time our musical limits became broader in natural way. The base of the band is the best traditions of poetry Russian rock, which correspond to the serious attitude to the word. Musicians participated in such festivals as “Dogd”, “Edinenie”, “Nesezon”, “Krupitzu”, also they perform in Moscow musical clubs. Now the band is armed with weighty electric album “Na snegu”, which was written mostly by main leader of the band “Belovodye” Maksim Lipatov. Recently the band tried as hard as they can to broad the geography of their concert performances.
7. Vishnya - Starateli

   Legendary musician, arranger and the owner of the voice of rare diapason ( counter tenor) Aleksey Vishnya is famous due not only “gorbachev” Soviet rock of beginning of 1980 and classic Russian rock of their middle and end. Today he is an active member of Internet. It is not a secret that 90% of encountered in the Internet anonymous music is written by him. Nevertheless, it doesn’t prevent him from working on recording of series of small “Italian style” cantatas of Handle for counter tenor and baritone by request of one famous French label.
8. Idoly Molodezhi - Gornist

   This ironic name hides the talented team of musicians - virtuosos and poets – luminaries, members of – Order of courtesan mannerists, whose official site is quite popular (www.okm.ru). The main aim of the band is to make the quality hits and propagandize pure positive. Rich “musical luggage” lets the Idols to combine the brilliant programs for pensioners and pioneers, bankers and homeless people, fastidious critics from musical press and thoughtful girls. The performances of the band took place in many Moscow clubs, TzDH and TzDZh. Now the band is preparing for the tour, where the naughty and wise, really courtesan poetry will be performed, where doll sacrifices will be made, where hairy woman and Lilliputians will dance and audience, as usual will join them, even if they never wanted to do this. Band disco-graphic includes three albums ("Stena hitov”, “Samtzu-udaltzu” and “Posledniy den’ Zemli”), also it should include the following: instrumental albums of Denis Rozadeev and a lot of solo albums of Grigor’ev (including “Veselui peretz”, “Geniy”, “Khoroshist”, “Ukataika”, “Iskrennost and chelovechnost”, “Vnedorognik”, “Sumashedshinka s hitretzoy, etc.). These records may be bought at the frequent concerts of the Order of courtesan mannerists in Moscow museum named after Mayakovskiy. Presented version of “Gornist” is a special mix for Recommended Records from SS Rec.

   Moscow band “Sol” is exactly 3 years old. The core of the band is Andrey Koftun (vocal, guitar), Pavel Yasonas (guitar, vocal), Valeriy Petrov (keyboard, PC). Sometimes the band grows up to 8 people. Dream. Sky.
10. Dom Kukol - Klyukva

    Everything had happened absolutely accidentally (if to take into account that the accident is a particular case of regularity). The genius of accident was Edik (solo-guitar), which had managed to come at the wrong time to somebody else’s training (at that time he played in another band) and because he liked everything what was happening in the studio, to everybody’s gladness, he remained in the band. At the time of creation of the band, Vlad (rhythm-guitar, solo) was serving in military orchestra and sometimes paid visits to the home SPK “Zarechye”, where he met each member of “Dom kukol” band he could. Before the time when Edik and Vlad joined the band, the “Dom Kukol” band consisted of: Dmitriy Suchev (Bananan), acoustic guitar, vocal; Arseniy Suchev, bass-guitar, keyboard; Sergey Darenskiy, drums. The latest person in the band is the representative of its beautiful part Irina Kromm (back-vocal, vocal). With her final and irrevocable joining the band has got its real face. In recent 1999 Andrey Tihonov has joined the band and by magic and spiritual ceremonies he was transformed into director of the band.
11. Ugra - Ogon' Dal'nikh Stran

    The guys took the name after Siberia place, which is taking the clean air of Yugor taiga, which raises the clouds by the trunks of Siberian pine, which is marked by merging of great Ob and Irtysh, which gives the larger power than cosmic energy and which endows its blessed clowns and allied – soul tramps with distinct figure. It sounds as Slavic. On the poster of one of their concerts the musicians wrote: “Yugra” – Russian heavy music. The first album of the band ( which, by the way, was released as special enclosure to Recommended Records collections) is made in genre of thriller ( round dance thriller and propulsive thriller). If, thanks to this thriller, the circle of listeners-fans is made up, then the different and conceptual works will follow. Moreover, the web-site “Yugra” is getting ready and soon it will receive its first on-line readers. The band consists of: Roman “Kovul”, vocal, guitar; Anton Bol’shakov, drums; Aleksey Blinov, bass, back-vocal; Evgeniy Son, guitar.

    This is our photo. Doctor is, of course, the most vivid one. Here he is, from the left side, clean – shaven. Fantomas against show-business. This is a taxi-driver. He has very strange musical taste. Well, here I am. I out in the band the whole life and don’t regret about this. Even if nobody knows us, thanks to this I don’t have the guaranteed future. Tens of musicians have played with me. Only few of them understood what it is all about. Although they were. Some thought that the band restricts their independence. They were shouting: “I don’t owe anything to anyone”, slamming the door. That’s true. You don’t owe. But the counter is also true. No, brother, you owe. But if this duty is too difficult for you, than sorry. For me this duty is a pleasure. And it is supported by the simplest thing: I know that you know that I’ll never harm you. Somebody (I don’t remember who) said: The person will achieve the desirable if he really wants to live and somehow don’t care about the death. It sounds attractively.

    The band was formed at the end of 1996 in the middle of the capital, in Moscow Manezh, where the founders the band Aleksey Kulagin “Vuhuhol’ and Konstantin Ivanov “Pohuhol” have met each other absolutely accidentally. Conception was formed quite quickly (moderately stiff sound, Russian texts). But the same can’t be said about the name. Practically all had been thought about – terrifically to remember! In general, that time the members of the band wasn’t disdain about any experiments and instruments. The band invited the sisters Tatyana and Svetlana Obuhovu, violin and back-vocal. Sometimes the block-flute was also used. A bit later the band began to work on demo-album “Deti Avraama”, to tell the truth, with the new drummer. Andrey Zverev “Zvepa-mladshiy” took place of Sergey Ivanov. Gennadiy Goncharov (bass) had suddenly left the band in 1997. After the long searching, auditions, which were combined with excessive drinking, through the trials and mistakes, the bass vacancy was taken by young talented musician Pavel Tubaev, who at that time was studying at the jazz studio “Moskvorechye”. Back-vocal vacancy was taken by Kseniya Donukova (now she is the soloist of KRUGER band). In 2000 the band faced other changes. After the triumph performance at the party of “Moscowskiy komsomoletz” newspaper, despite of ecstatic press references, P.Tubaev (bass) had suddenly left the band (it was like an evil suggestion). It was due to enormous work load and furious life pace. One more member of the band, Andrey Zverev had left the band at the beginning of 2001. Aleksey Kulagin became involved in producing and preparation to recording of the new album.
14. Oskolki - Ya Govoril

    OSKOLKI was formed in 1996 by bits and pieces of different underground bands, which played different music, and positioned itself exclusively as the studio team. The leader of the band Slava “Rugiy” is the idea inspirer and vocalist of given band, sound technician and the leader of few more parallel projects, which have the same name. He is using both the own texts and the texts of his friends, who already don’t relate to music in any way. The song “Ya Govoril” was recorded under “Rugiy Records” label in summer of 2001 and was included in “OSENNE-ZIMNIY SEZON’ album. The author of the text is Slava “Rugiy”. Music by “OSKOLKI” band.
15. Vozvrascheniye - Nevesta

    In the 1998 it was the first time when the team has performed under this name, although three of its members – present leader of the band Sergey Kannunnikov, Grigoriy Zaval’nuy and Aleksey Kapitanov began their cooperative music activity when they were in the Army. Permanent drummer of the band Aleksey Nosarev were playing since 1997, and together with Grigoriy Zaval’nuy they are the tandem, which produces the main arrangement ideas. In November 1998 the band participated in Moscow district festival “Hit-98”, which took place in Klin, where “Ivan-da-Mar’ya” song won “The best song” award and became the hit of the festival. In 2000 the band again has participated in Moscow district festival “Hit-2000” in Naro-Fominsk. That time the “Nevesta” song became the hit of the festival and the band took Grand Prix of the festival. After that, the band participated in “Festos” festival, which is administrated by the government of Moscow. There the band became the laureate of the festival in rock-nomination. Thanks to support of friends, in September of 2002 the band released its first album “Vverh po techeniu” under “Ariya Records” label, after this the new drummer Sasha Alexandrov joined the band. Now the band continue to perform and at the same time is working on the new program “Nebo v prorehah” (working name), simultaneously trying to create from congenial rock bands the charity organization “Bratina” which would organize and administrate` the charity concerts. 16. Oleg Kostrov - Mysterious Passenger

    Today this name is well-known in Russia, Germany, United Kingdom and Japan. Oleg Kostrov is one of few modern Russian musicians, who managed to generate the positive resonance in the West. The most known to audience project is “Nozh dlya Frau Muller” where Kostrov cooperates with Oleg Gitarkin. “Mechtu – tretiy sort” album, which was released in 2000 on “Legkie” label, made real revolution in the consciousness of musical establishment by making the “easy listening” music an event of the year in Russia. “Mechtu” became the one of most selling albums, album compositions were played by radio stations in all parts of the country, musical critics awarded the album the best grades. But Kostrov it is not the only “Nozh for Frau Muller”. He is also known thanks to music for the whole list of theatre projects and performances, many of them were created in cooperation with famous designer Andrey Bartenev (who worked with Brian Ino, Paco Rabanne, Endru Logan). The tale “Ivonna, which was presented in 1998 in the theatre of Novosibirsk “Krasnuy fakel”, is one of these cooperative projects. Other shows were presented in 1999, the brightest of them is the ballet performance “Snow Queen” in London, in the famous Royal Festival Hall. After that the music of Kostrov has attracted attention of Byork. In the summer of 2000 Oleg Kostrov quite successfully performed in clubs of Germany. One of the most successful performance was participation in the famous German festival “Battery park”, in Cologne, where Oleg was performing on one stage with such stars of electric stage as Mouse on Mars, Jimmy Tenor, StereoTotal, etc.

    Svetozar, Praskovya and also their contemporary and friend Ded Egor are the main heroes of that story, the new album of Kitti Louis is based on. No melodramas or love triangles. All three are wonderful people and Ded Egor is even kind. Svetozav Kovrov knows him from the school times, probably they were studying together or were living close to each other and they always were friends. Once they were even under personal supervision of police officer because of their pranks. It came the time for Svetozar to fell in love and for this purpose the destiny introduced him to Ptaskovya Basargina, the daughter of choleric lieutenant colonel. Their feelings were mutual and strong, gave them happiness, their eyes became bright and fastened in the same direction. Ded Egor, who is inclined to contemplate and was involved in introduction of lovers to each other, frankly was glad for the friends. Present creative work of the band is determined by musicians of Kitti Louis as synthesis of electric and chamber music. They differ from rock by the small amount of electric guitars (and by its absence in concert version), from pop-music – by rich harmonies and non-trivial tunefulness. In the works of Kitti Louis the violin alto, trumpet, oboe are combined with sequencer, samples and synthesizer. Two voices, male and female, braid their story in such rich setting. Most of recording took place in Nigniy Novgorod in the sound recording studio “Tonmeister” with intense participation of local musicians.

    "Istoki-folk" project is a result of cooperation of Podol folk ensemble “Istoki” and guitarist of Dmitriy Kvasov’s band “Akusticheskie botinki”. Everything began from the writing of phonogram for the performance of young members of “Istoki” ensemble on the city competition “Yunue talantu”. Then the compositions of ensemble and ethnic records of grannies from Archangel’skoe, Leluhino and Rusyatino (Tula district) village began to appear. “Sidela Katushechka” is made in Autumn of 2002. Guitar, bass and programmed drums and MIDI instruments: Kvasov Dmitriy. Record and composition: home studio of Dmitriy Kvasov.
